Motherhood Sessions
Proof of the love you pour into these days and the amazing job you’re doing
I know how much these photos matter,
because they literally
changed my life.
Several years ago, a friend photographed my oldest and me doing the things we loved together.
Dancing to “Shake It Off” in her bedroom. Making chocolate chip cookies. Reading Harry Potter on the couch with our old lumpy dog snoozing close by.
When I got the images back, I sobbed in my closet.
Because I hadn’t realized that for months (maybe years?), I had been stuck in a loop of wondering “am I doing a good job?” and comparing myself to all the other moms around me. But these images helped me to see my motherhood experience from a different perspective. I saw the joy on our faces. I saw the bond we had built. I saw Everly’s childhood through her eyes, and it was beautiful.
I want you to experience the same thing.
You don’t need an entirely clean house.
You don’t need everyone to look and smile.
You don’t need your kids to “behave.”
You just need this version of your life—exactly as it is right now.
Because this is the part you’ll want to remember.
Motherhood sessions are short, simple, and intentional.
We’ll spend 30 minutes in your home, usually in one or two spaces with the best light. We’ll choose one or two activities that already feel like your life — making cookies, reading books, doing a craft, playing outside, having a snack, snuggling on the couch, or dancing in the kitchen.
These sessions are more documentary in feel, which means I’ll step back and let things unfold as much as possible. I’ll offer gentle direction when needed, but mostly, I want to photograph what already exists between you and your children.
The love. The rhythm. The way they see you.
Who are these for?
These sessions are for the mom who
Feels like time is moving too fast
Wants to remember the little things
Doesn’t want overly posed photos
Values connection over perfection
Is always behind the camera, but never in front of it
The mom who wants to look back and say,
“That’s exactly what it felt like.”
Why these matter
I think so many of us are waiting for the moment when life feels a little more put together… a little less chaotic… a little more “photo-worthy.”
But this is the story.
The way you look right now (and yes, you are beautiful!).
The toys on the floor.
The rhythm of your days.
How little they truly are (even your big kids).
The way it feels to be needed all day long.
This season isn’t something to rush through—it’s something to remember.
And these sessions are about preserving it… before you move onto the next chapter without even realizing it.

Not sure what we’d photograph? Here are a few ideas:
Reading together in bed or on the couch
Baking or making breakfast
Snuggles after nap time
Playing with a favorite toy in a bedroom or nursery
Morning routines with your littles
Adventures in the backyard
Creating an art project together
The options are endless and can be completely unique to your family’s story.
-
The short answer?
Wear what feels like you.Not something new or overly styled—just the pieces your family already loves and lives in.
If your toddler insists on that same Elsa dress every day…
chances are you’ll want to remember that when she outgrows it, so now would be a perfect time to let her choose her own outfit! -
Girl, I am right there with you. I know.
So many moms wait until they lose the weight, feel more like themselves, or finally have something to wear.
But your children are not waiting for some future version of you. They love you right now. Just as you are.
And that version of you is worth remembering.
-
This is the beauty of these sessions: they don’t need to perform.
We’ll choose simple activities and let the session move with them. If they need a snack, want to show me a toy, climb into your lap, run outside, or melt down for a minute, that’s all part of real life with kids.
-
It does not need to be.
We only need one or two spaces with good light, and those spaces do not have to be perfect. Your home matters because it’s where your life with your children is happening.
This is the place that will live in their memories, whether the kitchen renovations of your dreams has happened yet or not.
Let’s document your story.
If this season of motherhood feels like one you don’t want to forget… this is for you.
