Hi there, I’m Katie!
Austin in-home family, newborn, and motherhood photographer
I’m a former ER and hospice nurse, a deeply nostalgic homebody, and a photographer — but mostly, I’m a mom who knows what it feels like to be overwhelmed by the noise and still ache to remember every bit of it.
Most days, I’m somewhere between reheating my coffee, picking up the toys in the living room for the umpteenth time, fulfilling snack requests, and wondering how motherhood can feel so exhausting and so beautiful at the exact same time.
I know the photos I wish I had more of in my own motherhood journey, and that’s the place I photograph from — not as someone showing up to make your life look perfect, but as another mom who knows there is so much worth remembering in the middle of what you’re already living.
Current Obsessions
90’s nostalgia
pony beads, Lisa Frank, Clinique Happy, and the band Hanson (I’ve seen them over 30 times in concert)
diet coke
all day every day, preferably from Sonic (which has a superior DC over McDonalds and yes, I will die on this hill)
arts ‘n crafts
Hobby Lobby is my happy place. My current obsession is beaded necklaces and I’m fighting the urge to make them my entire personality
books
I’ve always got a stack of books ready to read, but my all time favorite is The Idea of You by Robinne Lee.
putting my thoughts on the internet
I’ve been blogging since I was in high school (remember the LiveJournal days?), and now, decades later, am still oversharing on the world wide web like it’s 2004.
